Vintage 5 Drawer Dresser in the Raymond Loewy Style
Designed in the “Mod-Pop” style, manufactured by Broyhill, circa 1970s. The carcass is solid wood construction with a white lacquer finish. The door faces are ABS injection molded plastic.
The design of these pieces were strongly influenced by Raymond Loewy. Most design historians consider them to be the “father of American Industrial Design”. This “stream line” design concept was translated into the 1950’s and 1960’s Studebaker cars, Coke bottle and Le Creuset cookware. He also designed the Lucky Strike package, the Greyhound bus and Shell logo.
